Home Again

I just got home from my trip to Portland for my friend's wedding. It was so hard not to tell them the good news!

I'll post more soon, but here is a picture of what Little One looks like now:

Little One is now officially an embryo!

That is what my weekly email newsletter said at least. We still call him little sea monkey. Here is what the email said about his development:

You may be just finding out that you're pregnant and already your baby is the size of a poppy seed. The most dramatic and vulnerable period in her development begins this week and continues for the next six. During this time, all of your baby's organs will begin to develop and some will start to function. While your baby is in this embryonic period, she's particularly susceptible to anything that might interfere with her development. The primitive placenta is made up of two layers at this point. Also present are the amniotic sac, which houses your baby, the amniotic fluid, which cushions her as she grows, and the yolk sac, which produces your baby's red blood cells

Finding Out

Somehow, I just knew that I was pregnant. I've really believed it for the last 2 weeks. Everything seemed to indicate it. I was exhausted all week. I'm usually tired during the week, but this was different. One day driving home from work I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. I was just utterly pooped. I also noticed some light spotting last week which is a normal sign of implantation. There were also some other more personal signs that I don't think you want me to go in to.

Even though I really believed this whole time I was pregnant, I still took 3 tests just to make sure (that isn't including the blood test I also requested from the doctor. Those results come back Monday). False positives are very rare, but I still wanted to be certain it wasn't a fluke.

So I guess three may have been a little overboard. But it also means it's really real! According to all of the online due date calculators, I am just around 4 weeks. I want to wait for a while to tell everyone. I have a doctors appoinment on May 20th and I think I'll wait till then to share the good news--if I can.

BFP! I'm pregnant.

It's really true! I'm pregnant. I keep saying that over and over again. I've taken two tests today, one in the morning and one this afternoon and both have been positive. I went in for a blood test as well but won't get those results until late today or Monday.

I'm just about 4 weeks so it is still really early. We haven't told anyone yet.

In the Baby Zone

Check out BabyZone. It has been a great resource for me as I've been waiting. We're in our second month of TTC now-a-days.
