Six Months

Can you believe it has already been 6 months since Jocelyn was born? I can't believe she is so old. Today we went to the doctor and she is 14lbs and 10oz (30%) and 26 1/2 inches (75%). She's tall and skinny :)

Lately she is into everything she can get her grubby little paws on. She is very interested in food, if you are eating it she wants it. She can sit up like a champion and rarely falls over. Her favorite toy is paper....yes...paper. She loves to crumple it and tear it. She also really enjoys banging on anything she can. She likes "reading" books (by reading I mean kicking and hitting them).

Summer Clothes

I took these pictures of Josie today for my mom. Mom bought this little outfit for Josie months ago and she is just now fitting into it. My friend Melissa also did an impromptu photo shoot today, those pictures to come later.

She's a sitter

My baby is officially a sitter! I'm very happy that she's right on track developmentally. She is very happy now that she can sit up. She loves to play in her jungle gym and grab for things in front of her.

At the pool

For a year I've looked forward to the day when I could take Josie to the pool and go swimming.


We went this weekend.

It was warm, but certainly not hot. You can't see from the pictures, but it was also windy.

While she seemed excited (or maybe that was me) before we left, when we got there we found that the water was very cold. Jocelyn did not like being in the water.



She did like hanging out and watching the children though. Alex and I took a few turns jumping off the diving board and going down the slide. She seemed to like that too.



Perhaps when it warms up just a bit she'll like swimming a little better. Until then, she looks dang cute in her little swim suit and hat.

Little Piece of Heaven

On Sunday we were talking about how sometimes little moments in our lives can be like little pieces of heaven on earth. Several women were commenting on recent things that had happened to them. A girl my age mentioned that her son (who is 3 months old) laughed for the first time and how that was so perfect for her. I can really identify.

Here is a video of Josie laughing. We've been trying to get it on video for a month or so and finally I was successful. If you are curious why I keep repeating the word "lobster" it's because we had just finished watching Friends. It was the one where Phoebe compares Ross and Rachel to lobsters (who according to her, mate for life and walk around in the tank holding claws). When the show was over I repeated Phoebe's last line "See, he's her lobster!" and she thought that word was hilarious.
